WebCare.Net’s founder can trace his experience back to 1993 when working on one of the first Novell network 3.1 and Windows 3.0 infrastructures for a major transcontinental airline in the Washington DC area. In September of 1994 the computer industry was changing, that change was heading down One Microsoft way. You guessed it – Microsoft has introduced Windows NT 3.5, a complete new network operating system that would go head to head in competing in the Novell network space.

In 1995 Mike obtained his Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certificate better known as the MCSE. He continues to stay abreast on all the computer technologies like Vista, Windows 7 and 8 Server Operating System, 2008 and 2012, while staying current with the older technology of XP, Windows 2003 operating systems.

The move to Iowa in 1998 is when his information security career began. While working for large enterprise companies designing and managing complex Internet connections and Demilitarized Zones (DMZ’s) Mike’s passion for security grew.

In 2002 – Mike decided it was time to accelerate his career and become one of the first Certified Information System Security Professionals (CISSP) in the Iowa area.  He was one of only three CISSP’s that year in Iowa. Mike still holds that certification today and it is highly regarded as one of the top security certifications in the industry.
